A Doré Guide to Holiday Soirées

Author: Doré
Holiday season is absolutely upon us, and along with it our calendars are filling up with parties, dinners and events. Whether you’re hosting or attending, we wanted to share a little guide for a chic holiday season.Add a little sparkle. There’s nothing better than a little sparkle to make the moment festive. And best done when added with an accessory like a shoe, bag or something for your hair.Never show up empty handed. It’s always best to bring a little something whenever you’re attending a party or a dinner. A bottle of champagne or a simple bouquet of flowers is always a nice touch. Forget the small talk. Nothing is worse than having a season of parties with conversation of small talk after conversation of small talk. The best advice we’ve ever received for how to go deeper? Get curious. Take something someone says and get super curious about it - ask them questions, share your experience that relates to the same thing and go deep. It’s a really genuine way to have a great conversation, and you very well may learn something new in the process. When it doubt, put a bow on it.Bows aren’t just for present wrapping. You can use a piece of ribbon for an easy hair accessory or a simple choker-style necklace. Practice the art of the French exit. When you’re ready to slip away for the night, feel free to do just that and slip out quietly. Rather than interrupting the fun, you can easily make your way and then text your host that evening or the next morning to say thank you.
