Stories + Objects & Mohammed Abdullatif

I’ve always been fascinated by tradition.

I love the idea of passing a skill down from generation to generation. In Fés, Morocco, Mohammed Abdullatif is a master tanner who is a part of the tanning trade of the city. He has a strong belief in craftsman ship and the role that it plays in your life, regardless of your trade. From hides he creates the most supple, buttery soft leather.

MOHAMMED1

Jamie from Stories + Objects, visited Mohammed in Fés to see him work and explore this ancient city while developing a tote bag made from Moroccan leather, which we’ve collaborated with her on for our retreat.
