The Ski Sweater

I started skiing at the ripe age of three. If I’m being honest I can’t remember much other than this; the coarse yellow rope of the leash that tethered me to my mother, hot chocolate that was promised to me if I stopped crying, and my very first ski sweater. It was a thick blue wool with tiny white stars and it itched like hell. Despite this small pragmatic setback I apparently insisted on wearing it ALL of the time and to this day, it is my most poignant memory of my first outing on the slopes.

Fast-forwarded 23 years. When the season turns and the inevitable act of bundling commences, I still love the idea of that sweater. The warmth, the nostalgia and honestly, it was pretty cute. But alas, most sweaters were either too bulky, too itchy, or just not cute. That was until the Fall/Winter collections this year blessed us with what is now probably my all time favorite trend, the Ski Sweater!

Tory Sport has really turned it out this season for the perfect winter sweater. This one is a personal favorite. It has the most amazing retro vibe while maintaining a buttery soft quality that will make you never want to take it off. Trust me, I tried it on and it was really hard.

In another coup from the team at Tory Sport, they have managed to make the world's most versatile sweater. A knit so warm, so cozy, and so chic you can literally wear it straight from the slopes and directly into your office. *Disclaimer* I haven't actually tried this fashion trick yet but if someone wants to buy this for me, I would be willing!

Is there anything better than a great staple? I think not! Acne has outdone themselves with this perfect, white, chunky knit. As always, it is on trend and the perfect riff on the classic ski sweater.

Last but not least is my current (and I do mean this quite literally) obsession in the form of a graphic-meets-french stripe-meets-oversized sweater. The oversized silhouette with the traditional Sonia Rykiel stripe is an ideal marriage between modern and classic that I can’t get enough of!
