On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you love sequins?? If you asked me, oh I don’t know, 15 years ago, I would have been an 8 verging on 9 – but alas as the seasons change, so does ones taste in clothing. But sequins were big for Fall 2016, and I don’t think they’re really going away anytime soon (please consult almost every editor at FW’s Instagram story of slow motion sequined numbers on the runway). In an effort to make sequins attainable for every fashion enthusiast, we thought we would approach the trend with four different women in mind. Of course who better to illustrate multiple personalities than an artist like Camilla, ready to embody every level sequins in Part 2 of our EDIT No.5.
Oh! And we’re introducing a few new stylists this season too – people you know from the site, who not only happen to have great style we’ve captured over the years – but actually call it their profession too.
She loves color and definitely loves sequins! Put those two together and you won’t need rose colored glasses to make the world seem right. Especially when you’re wearing 50 shades of glorious pink! But nothing can outshine this sequin-laden dress from Preen, adorned with a display of mirrored sequins that mean you bring the disco!
She likes sequins about as much as she enjoys indulging in her favorite sugary confection, but isn’t obvious about it. While a black chevron patterned sequin car coat may not seem subtle, it blends into the scenery while sharing a likeness to fur with its squiggly, and distorted lines. Plus, with jeans, it never felt more right.
She’s the girl who doesn’t just wear sequin pants, she wears ones with beaded embroidery that move when you strut and tops it all off with a casual grey sweater because she knows, she KNOWS, the only way to be the most glam at the party is to not overdo it.
