It’s fall! And we couldn’t be happier. Because fall weather means that instead of being forced to shed more layers of clothing than you felt was appropriate, we can pile them on until all that is left is your now-slightly-less-tan face peaking out from a turtleneck. And most importantly it means it’s time for our newest EDIT! A series we started two years ago with hopes to bring an editorial eye to our seasonal sartorial ambitions.
For Part 1 of our EDIT No.5, we’re touching on tonal dressing. Perhaps seen as an easy way out of wearing real color, neutral tones are rich with possibility. With one of our favorite new faces in front of the lens, we’re excited to introduce you to Paloma – wearing the tonal trend you can wear day into night!
Cozy creams with whites and golds, subtle pink lace mixed with a rose hued coat, and khaki by way of layered trench coats in varying tones. The amazing thing about fall is the ability to mix all these different textures – knits, and wools, and leathers working harmoniously to encompass the tone-on-tone trend. There is of course an art to it – you can’t just put on all the brown things in your closet and walk out the front door. As with most things in life – it’s all about balance, and finding it in your wardrobe to make discerning choices when layering.
The best thing about this trend is that it’s probably already happening inside your closet! Something we all can be happy about :)
