Raise your hand if you have already fallen into your winter beanie rut! Yup, me too.
I am always inspired by couples who can both live and work together. Prosper and Martine Assouline do just that, and with such grace. Driven by their love of books and not being able to find the beautiful and affordable ones they desired, they set out to create their own. They launched their eponymous publishing company together in the mid-90s and have seen it grow into a very successful and super respectable publishing house. I have a lot of their books myself!
Today on Pardon My French, I am with them in their lovely New York apartment as we chat about how they got their start, what inspires them and what they hope their books bring to their readers.
Take a listen.

Jessica Richards is a clean beauty queen. As the founder of Brooklyn’s natural beauty emporium, Shen, and senior beauty merchant for Free People, where she oversees the brand’s new wellness collection, she’s tried it all, from steaming her yoni (on the advice of Gwyneth Paltrow – Google it) to having her blood drawn for a customized face cream. We stopped by Shen and chatted with Jessica about the whacky ingredients found in new generation beauty products (hyaluronic acid and purslane, anyone?), the best beauty boost (hint: exercise), got tips for cleaning out our makeup bag, and had our most pressing question answered, that is: do the products with the cutest packaging really work??
