When Pia and I first met BJ a few weeks ago for her Career interview, we both knew we needed more of her, both in our lives and on the site.
Alison Roman is a food writer and recipe developer. She graciously (and deliciously) fed our guests at our housewarming dinner and, in celebration of her new cookbook (that makes her an author too!) she let us into her home whipped up this colorful carrot salad. Her cookbook, Dining In, was released this week and I’m obsessed (you should know now that I don’t use that word lightly). It’s funny, it’s real, it’s welcoming, and it’s beautiful – and filled with beautiful food. Below, a recipe from, and a conversation with, Alison. And if, or maybe when, you want more, you can pick up a copy of Dining In.

“This is one of my favourite RACIL jackets from this season, with a vintage looking t-shirt and leather trousers – which are a big staple in my winter wardrobe! I am often running around and walk everywhere so I always wear in trainers in the day and currently in love with my Vans, my heart shaped glasses make me smile, I like a touch of humour. This outfit is very me – a good mix of high and low, a little eclectic, but effortlessly put together.
